About Me

KATHRYN COPPOLA PHOTOGRAPHY

Discover who’s behind the lens

Hi! I’m Kathryn, and I’m an elopement photographer based in Switzerland. More than anything, I’m someone who believes that a wedding day should feel real, calm, and deeply personal.

From one eloping heart to another

I’m in this with you. Literally.

As someone who’s currently planning her own elopement (we’re dreaming of the wild quiet of Iceland!), I know firsthand what it means to want something intentional. Something real. Not a performance, but a memory you carry in your bones. I understand the tug between keeping it simple and making it meaningful, the logistics that can feel overwhelming, and the deep desire to make the day about you two, no one else.
This isn’t just what I photograph — it’s what I believe in. I get what it’s like to choose a path that might look different from tradition, to say no to pressure and yes to freedom. That’s why I approach every couple’s story with empathy, care, and heart. I’ll be there not just as your photographer, but as someone who understands the beauty (and occasional chaos!) of dreaming up something honest and wild and entirely yours.
Because I’m walking that same path too — just in a different landscape. And I promise to show up for yours with the same love I’d want someone to bring to mine.

What Makes Me Different?

When couples elope here, my goal is to help them experience Switzerland in a way that goes beyond the typical tourist perspective. Instead of rushing between busy viewpoints, we focus on locations that allow you to slow down and truly absorb the environment around you.
I also care deeply about the impact weddings and tourism can have on natural spaces. The landscapes that make Switzerland such an incredible place to elope deserve to be protected and respected. That’s why I approach every elopement with a strong focus on sustainability and responsible travel. I help couples choose locations that can be enjoyed without damaging the environment, follow leave?no?trace principles, and plan experiences that respect both the land and the communities around it.

We’re a great fit if…

  • You crave adventure. Whether it’s hiking to a remote peak, chasing golden light, or embracing unpredictable weather, you want your day to feel like an experience, not just an event.
  • Nature feels like home. Mountains, lakes, forests—if you feel most alive surrounded by the wild, we’re on the same page.
  • You value candid, real moments. Stiff poses aren’t your thing. You want images that capture laughter, movement, and the way your love feels.
  • You want a photographer who helps, not just shows up. From timeline planning to location scouting, you want someone who makes the whole process easy and stress-free.
  • You’re not afraid to get a little messy. Windblown hair, hiking boots under your dress, dipping your toes in a freezing lake—if that sounds fun, we’ll get along great.

  • You care more about experience than perfection. You know the best moments are the unplanned ones, and you’re ready to embrace whatever the day brings.
  • You love the idea of a wedding that reflects you. Whether it’s an intimate elopement or a nature-filled wedding day, you want something that feels true to your story.
  • You want a photographer who truly sees you. Not just another couple, not just another photoshoot—your story matters, and I’m here to capture it in a way that feels personal.
  • You want a balance of guidance and freedom. You love natural, effortless photos but also appreciate a little direction to help you feel comfortable.
  • Lastly, you’re excited to create something unforgettable. Above all, you’re not just looking for photos—you’re looking for an experience, an adventure, and a way to remember it forever.

My Favorite Places to Shoot

Some of my favorite places to photograph elopements are the quieter corners of the Swiss Alps, Iceland, and Canada. I especially love locations where couples can arrive early in the morning or later in the evening, when the light is soft and the mountains feel empty. In my opinion, these are the moments when the mountains truly reveal themselves, and it feels like the entire landscape exists just for the two of you.

If this all resonates with you, and…

If you’re dreaming about eloping in Switzerland because you want something meaningful, peaceful, and connected to nature, you’re in the right place. My role is to help you discover beautiful places, plan an experience that reflects your values, and document it in a way that lets you relive those moments for years to come
